The book, which was edited by PII President Dr. Don Racheter and PII Senior Fellow Dr. Richard Wagner, is a collection of 12 essays written by public policy scholars from throughout North America. Politics, Taxation, and the Rule of Law examines the relationships among these concepts and our rights of person and property. Racheter noted that, “Taxation may be a necessary means of preserving and protecting rights of person and property, but it might also operate in various ways to undermine, abridge, and erode those rights.” Reading this book will give you the best take on the current status of this situation.
